This is an old and rare heirloom cabbage that originates from Aubervilliers near Paris. The area is famous for its fertile lands and high quality vegetables. This savoy style cabbage has wonderful crinkled green leaves in a relatively large tight head that have a delicious mild flavour that is never bitter and retain a lovely texture in cooking. A great addition raw in salads or cooked as a side dish or in soups.

Early winter variety, slow to bolt.

Sowing info

Sow in module trays throughout spring and summer at a depth of 13mm to ensure a continuous crop. Germination 12-20 days.

Growing info

Transplant when large enough to handle, allowing 45cm between plants each way. If the weather is dry, water in well when transplanting. Firm planting will ensure solid hearts.
