We’ve created four workshops for anyone who wants to grow their own veg, whether you’re sowing your first seed or you’ve had an allotment for years.
Each one is timed so what you learn is exactly what you need to sow next: heirloom know how, propagation, planning and our tips and hacks that make growing veg so much easier.
Spring · Friday 5 March or Friday 16 April 2027
Start the season the right way. Spring is when every grower makes their plans, and the choices you make at the start shape everything you harvest later. Spend a day with us at our Suffolk HQ and leave with the skills and confidence to make this your best growing year yet. Our co-founder Lucy opens the day with an introduction to heirloom varieties: where they come from, why we love them, and why they’re worth growing over anything on the supermarket shelf. Then we get stuck in. You’ll find out exactly what to sow now, how succession sowing keeps your plot productive all year, and the propagation tips we use every day to raise strong, healthy seedlings.

Summer · Friday 2 July or Friday 9 July 2027
Summer’s not the finish line. Most growers think about summer as harvest time. The smart ones are already sowing for autumn and winter. This workshop shows you how to keep your plot working, so you’re still picking fresh, homegrown food when the nights draw in. Lucy starts with an introduction to heirloom varieties and why they belong in your patch. From there we cover what to sow in July, how to plan successions so there are no gaps in your harvests, and the propagation know how that gets midsummer sowings off to a strong start. Grow now, eat all winter.

Late summer · Friday 10 September 2027
A whole day for tomato obsessives. If you’ve ever tasted a proper heirloom tomato straight off the vine, you already know why we’re devoting a full day to them. This masterclass is for anyone who wants to grow tomatoes with real flavour, history and character. We’ll start with why heirloom tomatoes are worth the effort, then introduce you to storage tomatoes. These are traditional varieties that you harvest by the whole truss and hang somewhere cool and dark, so you can keep eating fresh tomatoes well into winter. You’ll sow micro tomatoes, get our tomato propagation tips, and walk through our tomato polytunnel at the peak of the season. You’ll also get the chance to taste some of our rare varieties!
We’ll also teach you how to save seed from your own tomatoes. It’s one of the most satisfying things a grower can do, and it means your favourite varieties stay with you year after year.
Autumn · Friday 17 September 2027
Autumn is a beginning, not an ending. As summer winds down, set your plot up for the months ahead and keep homegrown veg on your table every month of the year. You’ll learn what to sow in September, how succession sowing keeps harvests rolling with no hungry gaps, and the propagation tips that make all the difference as the days get shorter.

Workshops go ahead whatever the weather. Most of the day is spent under cover in the polytunnel, with a little time outside, so come dressed for it: layers, sturdy shoes and a waterproof if the sky looks moody. Tunnels get quite warm on a sunny day too, so layers are key.
Unfortunately we can only accept gift vouchers to the exact value of £175 for workshops as we don’t have the technical capabilities to redeem part of a voucher against the ticket cost.
