Charity Work at She Grows Veg

We’re on a mission to get everyone growing their own food, and we mean everyone. We believe it should be within reach for all and that’s why we’ve teamed up with two brilliant charities to help make it happen.

Seeds For Growth Charity

The charity

Seeds for Growth is a registered charity with a beautiful mission: to improve quality of life in some of the UK’s most disadvantaged communities, one growing space at a time.

They began in London’s East End, helping people on social housing estates turn forgotten corners into flourishing community gardens. Now they’re reaching into boroughs right across London, with ambitions to establish their gardens UK-wide, and we’ll be right behind them every step of the way.

We Grow London

In 2026, they launched a fantastic initiative called We Grow London, sponsored by TrinityBridge. The project helps social housing residents grow their own food, build stronger communities and push back against food poverty by turning underused outdoor spaces into productive vegetable gardens, led by residents themselves.

Best of all, it’s completely free for residents and housing providers, and comes with everything a first-time grower needs, including seeds and pots; practical, hands-on training; on-the-ground support from experienced community staff; and simple digital resources to keep the growing going long after the first harvest.

Our support

In early 2026, we provided 200,000 seeds to We Grow London; enough to get whole communities growing food in their own green spaces. Every resident also gets access to our full library of growing education.

Additionally, we donate our entire Chelsea Flower Show exhibit to the charity, with the plants being rehomed into their green spaces and the produce donated to the residents.

Suffolk Mind

As a Suffolk business, giving back to our local community means a great deal to us. Suffolk Mind is on a mission to make Suffolk the best place in the world for talking about and taking care of mental health.

Alongside counselling, peer support, education and workplace wellbeing training, they help people understand and look after their emotional wellbeing, while campaigning for better services and chipping away at the stigma that still surrounds mental health.

GreenCare

Suffolk Mind runs four allotment sites through their GreenCare initiative in Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds, Haverhill and Felixstowe. They are calm, welcoming spaces where the simple acts of getting outdoors, working alongside others and watching something grow benefit both body and mind.

And that’s exactly why this partnership means so much to us. We’ve always believed that growing your own food is about far more than the harvest; it’s fresh air, a sense of achievement, the quiet rhythm of tending a plot, and the company of people pulling in the same direction. To see our seeds playing a part in that is really special.

GreenCare is open to everyone in the local community aged 18 and over, both those experiencing mental health difficulties and those wanting to look after their wellbeing for the future.

Our Support

We’re proud to be supporting this important initiative for a second season running. In early 2026, we donated 2,710 seeds. Enough to fill four allotments with colour, food and all the good that comes with growing it.
