Lettuce will not germinate in hot weather, so do not supplement heat and avoid sowing in the hottest days of summer. Growing info Heat tolerant and slow to bolt. When you harvest lettuce, you can just remove the lower, outer leaves to significantly extend your harvest period as the plant will continue to grow.
