A rare and unusual Italian heirloom chicory with a heart of gold. This stunning variety produces a creamy yellow leaf with a gently bitter flavour that looks incredible in salads, particularly combined with a pink leaf variety.

Sow seed 1cm deep and keep moist. Does not need extra heat to germinate. Grow on in individual module trays until planting out after last frost.
Chicory is relatively low maintenance once established but will need consistent watering through the hottest months. These plants are perennial and if roots are left in the ground when harvested, will regrow. Extremely frost tolerant, in fact cold weather intensifies the leaf colour.
