Here’s how it works its magic: as it dries, the seaweed takes on a coarse, spiky texture that slugs and snails simply can’t abide. Scattered around your plants, it forms an uncomfortable barrier those soft-bodied pests would much rather not cross, keeping them away from your precious leaves. And because it’s pure seaweed, it’s brilliantly kind to everything else in your garden, no harm to hedgehogs, birds, bees or beetles. Better still, it’s a two-jobs-in-one hero: as the granules gradually break down, they release natural, nutrient-rich goodness back into your soil, feeding your plants and improving the ground they grow in.

How to use it: Spread a 2-3mm layer of granules around individual plants, keeping the band at least 50mm (5cm) wide so there’s no easy gap for a determined slug to slip through. Water it in well after applying, then simply top up every 3-4 weeks to keep the barrier working at its best.
