Pumpkin Queensland Blue

This Australian heirloom is exquisitely beautiful and tastes amazing! The vigorous vine produces bluish-green, deep ribbed fruit which can grow to a weight of 2.5-4.5kg. The flesh is yellow-orange coloured and great for baking, boiling and roasting. It has an almost treacle-like flavour once it has been roasted. Stores well.

Growing Information

SOWING INFO

Pumpkins are very fast growing so do not be tempted to start too early. Sow seeds on their sides 1.5cm deep in small pots of peat free compost. Keep at a temperature of 20-25 C until after germination, which usually takes 7-10 days.

GROWING INFO

Plant out after all risk of frost has passed into a sunny position. Keep well watered to avoid issues with powdery mildew. Plants will trail significantly so allow sufficient room for them to sprawl. For longest storage times keep in a cool, dry, dark environment.
