A really beautiful perennial with bronze tinged leaves which are a great addition to your herb garden or borders. With a sweet and fresh anise flavour it can be used to season salads, seafood, or cooked vegetables. The seeds can be used as a spice.

Sow undercover around 6 weeks before you plant out or directly outdoors after the last frost. Germination takes 7-10 days depending on temperature. Plant out after risk of frost has passed, will be fully hardy once established so final transplants should be made by mid summer.
Herb fennel is hardy and drought tolerant and needs very little care once established. Will die back in autumn and regrow each spring. Flowers appear from late summer and will give a harvest of seed for the spice cupboard. Final height 2 metres.
