Sowing info

Sow several papaya seeds 1 cm deep in small, well-draining pots with a loose, sterile seed-starting mix. Planting multiple seeds increases the chance of getting a fruiting plant. Keep soil moist and warm (25–30 °C), cover to maintain humidity, and air daily. Seeds germinate in 1–3 weeks. Thin to the strongest seedling once it has a few true leaves and transplant to a larger pot when 15–30 cm tall.

Growing info

Use a large pot (45–55 L / 45 cm wide) with rich, well-draining soil. Provide 6–8 hours of bright, direct sunlight daily, adding grow lights in winter if needed. Keep temperatures 21–29 °C with high humidity (60 %+), and move indoors before it drops below 15 °C. Water regularly to keep soil evenly moist, reducing in winter.
