Its pearlescent skin and milder, less bitter flavour sets it apart from the rest, a true heirloom superfood, packed with antioxidants and nutrients. A show stopping and genuinely rare addition to any kitchen garden.

Soak seeds for 24 hours before sowing to aid germination. Sow indoors 2cm deep on their side at 25–28°C, germination can take up to 21 days so be patient. Keep warm and protected until after the last frost before moving to their final position.
Thrives in heat, so a polytunnel or greenhouse will get the best results. A vigorous climber, so give it plenty of support and vertical space. Harvest when fruits are firm and pearlescent white, the flavour mellows beautifully when cooked in stir-fries and soups.
Sowing Months: March – April Harvest Months: July – October Position: Full sun
