Kale plants can be transplanted to their final positions approximately 5 weeks from sowing. Growing info When transplanting kale, plant it deeper in the ground to ensure a sturdy stem. Plant kale at a distance of 60cm apart and cover with a protective netting or fleece to prevent attack from birds and insects. Water the plants thoroughly after planting. Kale is exceptionally hardy and requires little aftercare. Lettuce Marvel of Four Seasons Sowing info Surface sow onto moist compost and just cover. Lettuce will not germinate in hot weather, so do not supplement heat and avoid sowing in the hottest days of summer. Plant out after the last frost. Growing info When you harvest lettuce, you can just remove the lower, outer leaves to significantly extend your harvest period as the plant will continue to grow.
