Included in this bundle:

  • Gourd Luffa

This wonderful heirloom gourd works hard for the money! Not only can it be picked and eaten much like our beloved courgettes, it can also be dried and made into household sponges which are so much more eco friendly than the plastic ones. Eat them when they’re young and tender or let them fully mature before drying.

  • Plantain Purple Perversion

A plantain with wonderful deep purple frilly leaves, growing small white flowers on a spike. A hard working modern heirloom perennial ‘edimental’, its young leaves can be eaten raw or cooked, just treat like spinach in the kitchen. Great in soups, stews, curries and salads alike.

Huge thanks to Baker Creek Seeds for the beautiful photography

  • Butternut Squash Tromboncino

We love this pale green, Italian heirloom butternut squash here at She Grows Veg. Clearly given its name from the shape it grows into, akin to a trombone, this is a climbing squash that grows brilliantly over an arch, just mind your head! Can be eaten young and tender like a firmer courgette, or left to fully mature and stored for a year or more in the right conditions.

  • Chicory Rose of Venice

Possibly the most beautiful vegetable you can grow, this early season variety looks exactly like a giant pink rose! This old Italian heirloom makes fabulous addition to salads amongst other chicory leaves or caramelised and added to risotto. Guaranteed to wow when this one hits the dinner table.

  • Cactus Prickly Pear

Try growing a truly unique edible that also doubles as a striking and low maintenance house plant. Sweet fruits taste similar to melon and can be eaten raw or cooked as jam. The leaf pads can also be eaten, just be careful to remove all those tiny spines.

  • Gift Bag

Add an extra eco gift bag to your order here if you want more than one.  Alternatively you can select a gift bag with a personalised message at checkout.
