In the week that our first tomato ripened and we planted our tomatoes into the polytunnel, it suddenly feels like tomato season has officially begun.

If you are wondering how we have our first ripe tomatoes in April, it is because we grow micro dwarf varieties (30cm tall or less) indoors under grow lights.
Doing this means you can have ripe tomatoes at any time of year.
If you want to try doing the same, Vilma is the micro tomato variety that we currently offer, with more on the way for next season.

1 day per week - Fridays
Workplace South Suffolk/Ipswich region
This person will work with Lucy to help run our trial garden and seed farm at She Grows Veg. Duties include:
● Propagation
● Plant and garden maintenance
● Watering and plant care
● Harvesting
● Seed saving
Some horticultural experience required but you will be learning on the job from Lucy’s vast experience.
An interest in organic principles and no dig would be desirable and the ability to be self starting and independent is essential.
