Derived from an Ethiopian heirloom mustard, garlic kale’s young and tender leaves have a subtle aftertaste of fresh garlic. This can be grown pretty much year round if you sow successionally and has all the goodness you’d expect from a kale crop.

Sow seed at a depth of 1cm, does not need extra heat to germinate. Kale plants can be transplanted to their final positions approximately 5 weeks from sowing.
When transplanting kale, plant it deeper in the ground to ensure a sturdy stem. Plant kale at a distance of 60cm apart and cover with a protective netting or fleece to prevent attack from birds and insects. Water the plants thoroughly after planting. Kale is exceptionally hardy and requires little aftercare.
Sowing Months: February – May Harvest Months: July – October Position: Full sun
