Big flavour, Dual purpose, Unusual Veg

An unusual variety that produces two edible crops from a single plant. Above ground, the flat, aromatic leaves look and taste much like ordinary parsley and can be used in the same way. Below, it forms a slender, cream-coloured root that can be lifted and cooked like a parsnip or turnip, lending a sweet, earthy, subtly parsley-like flavour to soups and stews. The ultimate 2 in 1!

Growing Information

SOWING INFO

Direct sow into the final growing site in shallow drills. Germination can be slow so do not panic, 6 – 7 weeks is not unexpected. Thin the seedlings to 20cm apart. Keep them well watered through summer.

GROWING INFO

Harvest leaves as required making sure to leave some on the plant to feed the roots. Roots develop slowly and may be lifted from October onwards. Roots can be left to overwinter in the ground an lifted as required.
