Sow seeds sparingly undercover around 6 weeks before you plant out or directly outdoors after the last frost. Germination takes 7-14 days depending on temperature. These plants grow quite large, up to a metre across, so 1 plant may be enough.
Once established, lovage is hardy and drought tolerant and needs very little care. Will die back in autumn and regrow each spring. 2 metre tall flower stalks appear from mid – late summer and will give a harvest of seed for the spice cupboard.
