‘Myrna’ endive is a frizzled, leafy veg closely related to chicory, known for its distinctive bitter-sweet flavour and striking texture. Easy to grow and a wonderful addition to salads, it is rich in vitamin C, folic acid, and essential minerals. It will tolerate both heat and light frost with some protection, providing delicious salad leaves over a really long period.

Can be sown early in module trays or direct where they are to grow from May. Sow seed 1cm deep and keep moist at 15 – 22c. Sow at regular intervals for a continuous supply. Harden off seedlings and plant out after the last frost.Â
Choose a sunny or lightly shaded spot with well-drained, fertile soil. Water regularly, especially in dry weather, to prevent bolting. Blanching (withholding light) for 10 days before harvest will reduce bitter flavour. Growing undercover can extend the season.
Sowing Months: April – September
Harvest Months: May – November
Position:Â Full sun to partial shade
