Included in this bundle:

  • Chicory Rose of Venice

Possibly the most beautiful vegetable you can grow, this early season variety looks exactly like a giant pink rose! This old Italian heirloom makes fabulous addition to salads amongst other chicory leaves or caramelised and added to risotto. Guaranteed to wow when this one hits the dinner table.

  • Aubergine Melanzana Prosperosa

This beautiful Scilian heirloom globe-shaped aubergine is a sensational addition to your greenhouse growing. Its vivid purple colour and impressive size make it a much coveted ingredient for chefs. It has a low seed content and no bitter aftertaste from its white flesh. Truly versatile, it can be treated the same as any aubergine in the kitchen.

  • Storage Tomato Hanging Prince

This lovely plum shaped fruit is of particular interest to us here at She Grows Veg because of its storing ability. Harvest the entire truss and hang in a cool, dark place and the fruits can keep for months without perishing, meaning fresh heirloom tomatoes well into winter. As they age they naturally dehydrate leaving you with a crop of dried tomatoes akin to ‘sun dried’ if left long enough.

  • Cauliflower Sicilian Violet

The vivid purple head to this heirloom cauliflower stops you in your tracks as you walk through your veg patch or allotment. Harking from Sicily, its heads turn green on cooking and have a sweet, nutty flavour that’s hard to beat. Brilliantly it is insect resistant, easier to grow than some of the white varieties and packed with antioxidants. What’s not to love?!

  • Celery Utah

Celery Utah is a popular heirloom in the US due to its size and delectable green stalks. It is also stringless, which is a huge plus when eaten raw. Every bite delivers a wonderful burst of freshness and crunch. It’s just as much at home in a salad as it is cooked in stews and a classic bolognese.
