Surface sow in pots of moist peat free compost or direct in place from March. Keep at a temperature of 20 to 25C during germination, and allow the temperature to reduce at night. Keep the surface of the compost moist. Light helps germination, which usually takes 3 to 15 days.
When the seedlings are large enough to handle transfer into pots or trays and grow on in cooler conditions. When the risk of frost has passed, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions before planting out in their final flowering positions. Â Â
Sowing Months: February-April
Harvest Months: July – October
Position: Full sun
