Sow in module trays throughout spring and summer at a depth of 13mm to ensure a continuous crop. Germination 12-20 days.

Transplant when large enough to handle, allowing 90-100cm between plants each way. If the weather is dry, water in well when transplanting. Firm planting will ensure solid hearts. Best grown under insect netting to avoid attack from pests and birds. 65-100 days to maturity. For the largest heads feed regularly with a nitrogen rich organic feed.
