Niwaki Camellia Tool Oil 35ml

Camellia oil is the traditional Japanese way to keep tools clean and rust-free, and this bottle from Niwaki is made in Japan. it’s pressed from the seeds of camellia oleifera, a cousin of the garden camellia and the tea plant.

Wipe it over your secateurs, shears and other tools when you clean them, and it leaves a protective layer that keeps rust away and moving parts running smoothly. It’s ideal for Japanese carbon steel blades and also conditions wooden handles. It soaks in to a lovely deep finish rather than leaving things greasy.

It’s non-toxic, odourless and tasteless, so it’s safe to use on kitchen knives too. Just don’t be tempted to cook with it.
