An Italian heirloom with serious flavour credentials, this purple-topped Milan turnip produces smooth, white, flat roots with a sweet, buttery taste far superior to standard varieties. Incredibly hardy and quick to mature in just 45 days, it’s a reliable, cold-tolerant crop that’s as productive as it is delicious. A classic for roasting, mashing, or slicing fresh into salads.

Can be multisown in module trays or direct where they are to grow. Germination will usually take 7 – 10 days. When sowing direct plant seed at a depth of 2.5cm in shallow drills. Protect young seedlings from birds.
Keep well watered through dry periods. Harvest the largest root from each clump, leaving room for the next one to swell and replace it. In summer flea beetles can cause leaf damage, though they are short lived and plants should be fine.
