A giant in the chard field, this heirloom variety is larger than other Swiss chards out there, growing to a height of around 60cm. It has dark green, charmingly crumpled leaves and white contrasting stems which arrive in generous quantities over a long season. This chard has a rich earthy flavour and is best enjoyed sautéed or gently steamed to retain all of its goodness.

Sow in module trays 1cm deep. Grow on in the greenhouse until plants reach a height of around 5cm after the last frost.
Ready to harvest in 50 days. Harvest regularly by selecting a few stems from each plant to promote fresh growth and to extend the cropping season. More mature plants become frost hardy and will generally survive winter meaning you’ll have a harvest into the next year.
