This summer heirloom lettuce is a ravishing addition to your salad bowl. The variety is also known as Bronze Arrowhead and is in fact a member of the chicory family. This lends a balance of sweetness and delicate bitterness to the leaves that compliment milder leaves beautifully. Grow this variety alongside some of our other lettuces as a cut and come again or full head crop for wonderful leaf colours on your plate.
Both heat and cold tolerant, this can be grown nearly year round.

Surface sow onto moist compost and just cover. Lettuce will not germinate in hot weather, so do not supplement heat and avoid sowing in the hottest days of summer. Plant out after last frost.
Heat tolerant and slow to bolt. When you harvest lettuce, you can just remove the lower, outer leaves to significantly extend your harvest period as the plant will continue to grow. Regular succession sowing will ensure a contiunuous crop.
