An ancient heirloom variety of Italian leaf broccoli from Padua dating back to the 14th century. It’s memorable name was given as it comes from an ancient cross between a broccoli and a savoy cabbage. It is grown for its leaves rather than the flower sprouts. Enjoy it steamed and drizzled in good olive oil.

Growing Information

Sowing info

Sow seed at a depth of 1cm, does not need extra heat to germinate. Plants can be transplanted to their final positions approximately 5 weeks from sowing.

Growing info

When transplanting, plant it deeper in the ground to ensure a sturdy stem. Plant at a distance of 60cm apart and cover with a protective netting or fleece to prevent attack from birds and insects. Water the plants thoroughly after
planting. Exceptionally hardy and requires little aftercare.
