As delicate as its name suggests, lace flowers produce airy umbels of pale lavender-blue blooms that look like they’ve been spun from fine thread. Sweet-scented and brimming with cottage garden charm, these flowers bring a soft, romantic haze to borders and cut arrangements alike.

Sow indoors 8 – 10 weeks before last frost or outdoors after risk of frost has passed. Scatter seed thinly, about 1mm deep, into finely raked soil in rows 30cm apart, then cover lightly and water in. Germination takes around 3 weeks when the soil is warm (above 20°C) but can take longer.
Pot on seedlings as necessary. Harden off gradually before planting out after last frost, spaced around 30cm apart. May require staking. Low maintenance and generally trouble free once established. Final height 60cm.
