This stunning edimental Italian heirloom chicory variety is a joy to grow. Perfect eaten raw in salads lending a pleasant bitterness or cooked on a griddle with olive oil and sea salt. A particularly cold hardy leaf that adds joy and colour to your winter growing.

Sow seed 1cm deep and keep moist. Does not need extra heat to germinate. Grow on in individual module trays until planting out after last frost.Â
Chicory is relatively low maintenance once established but will need consistent watering through the hottest months. These plants are perennial and if roots are left in the ground when harvested, will regrow. Extremely frost tolerant, in fact cold weather intensifies the leaf colour, they will be green in summer.
