That’s right – this spinach is perennial. Called Kokihi in its native New Zealand and Warrigal Greens in Australia, it was apparently eaten by Captain Cook and his crew to prevent scurvy in the 1700s. A trailing plant that can withstand warmer summers without bolting and return each year except after the coldest winters. Can be harvested and cooked like normal spinach.

Sow in module trays 1cm deep. Grow on in the greenhouse until ready to plant out after the last frost.
Ready to harvest in 50 days. Harvest regularly to extend the cropping season and control its natural trailing habit. If plants do not survive a harsh winter, new plants will appear in spring as it naturally self seeds. Note – must be cooked before eating.
