Cucumber Dar

£3.50

A versatile little heirloom cucumber from Poland with a great flavour, Dar is equally as good for slicing as it is for pickling. Its smaller size means you use one at a time in the kitchen and avoid having half a cucumber sitting around in the fridge. Plants are happy growing outdoors and are bushy meaning they’re great on space. Fruits are bumpy and hold well on the plant until you’re ready to harvest them.

Outdoor variety. Bushy habit, max 45ch long.

Average 20 seeds.

Sowing info

Cucumber seeds should be sown in a warm place from March to April. Sow the seeds on their sides at a depth of 1cm in small pots of peat free compost, and keep at a temperature of approx 20C until they germinate. This usually only takes 7-10 days. Once they’ve germinated, you can move them to a bright windowsill or frost free greenhouse and grow them there until they’re big enough to be transplanted.

Growing info

Plant out into a sheltered sunny postion after all risk of frost has passed. Will require some sort of support to climb. Keep harvesting fruits regularly to encourage a continual supply.
