Sow indoors 8-10 weeks before last frost, or directly outdoors after last frost. Press seeds lightly into moist, compost and cover thinly. Ideal temperature: 18–21°C. Germination takes 10–21 days. Grow on in cooler bright conditions. Pot on seedlings as necessary. Harden off before planting out after last frost, spaced at 30cm.
Deadhead regularly to encourage fresh blooms. Water well in dry spells and feed lightly. Flowers are followed by attractive seed heads that can be dried. Final height 90cm.
