Growing Information

Sowing info

Soak seeds in fruit juice for 24h before sowing. Sow at a depth of 5mm and keep moist and warm at around 26°C. Germination can take from several weeks to 12 months so remain patient. It is advisable to cover the pot with a clear lid or cover to help retain moisture and ensure fungus gnats cannot reach the seeds.

Growing info

As seeds germinate, transplant seedlings into individual pots of sandy compost and move into a light position to grow on. Once established water sparingly. Spines can be removed by rubbing pads and fruit with a sturdy cloth which should then be shaken off outdoors and washed.
